Silo Covers

Volac Zillcover silo covers and silo bags are manufactured from 100% high quality virgin HDPE with a regular weave and high UV-stability, giving the best quality available.

Instructions for use

• Always finish your silo with a rounded face on top
• Immediately after filling, cover pit with plastic 500 gauge silage sheet, preferably two layers – using your old sheet on top
• Ensure sheeting overlaps down the side walls to create an air tight seal
• Roll out the Zillcover ensuring good overall coverage and a half-metre overlap at the edges and any joins 
• Fill Volac Zillbags 2/3 full with pea size gravel, seal with a tie then place on top of the cover every 5 metres and along all edges of the clamp

Storage of Zillcover from year to year

• Clean, if necessary, by hosing with water
• Fold, store in shed and prevent vermin nesting in them
• Covers can be stored wet without problems

Silanet Covers

Volac Silanets are a proven method of protecting bales against attack by birds, vermin and cats.

Volac Silanets come in two sizes - 10 x 15 metres and 10 x 20 metres. They are durable and should last up to 7 years if properly cared for.

Tyres or sticks should be used to elevate the nets and should be placed about 30 cm above the bales.

Silo bags

Volac Zillbags reduce the risk for cattle from degraded tyres.

Fill 2/3rds full with pea sized gravel and seal with a tie.
